Visa Information
You can only get a one-year Student Visa here in Israel. Do NOT spend your time or money applying for a Student Visa in the US/Canada.
The yeshiva will handle the visa application process here in Israel, at the beginning of the year. The yeshiva will handle the visa application process one time for each student.
Each student who enters the country automatically receives a B-1 Visa. It is good for 3 months. In order to remain for the entire year however, we will need to get a Student Visa for each student. This Student Visa is actually valid for 2 years.
You have 2 options:
1.) If you intend to remain in Israel for the entire year, or even until Pesach, then there is no charge for acquiring the Student Visa. You need only to do the following:
a.) fill out the Visa form. Don’t forget to fill out the mother’s maiden name and the parents’ birthdays
b.) please be sure to bring 2 passport-size pictures (the standard size for US passports will work here as well) with you on the group flight. You will give us these pictures on the first day’s Orientation.
2.) If you will be leaving in the middle of the year for any reason, you will need to get a multiply-entry visa. There is a 160 shekel fee for this visa and it is valid for 2 years. In this case, you will need to do the following:
a.) fill out the Visa form. Don’t forget to fill out the mother’s maiden name and the parents’ birthdays.
b.) please be sure to bring 2 passport-size pictures (the standard size for US passports will work here as well) with you on the group flight. You will give us these pictures on the first day’s Orientation.
c.) pay 160 shekels to the yeshiva on the first day’s Orientation
3.) If you choose NOT to pay for a multiple-entry visa, and you are forced to come back home due to unforeseen circumstances, then you will be allowed to leave the country. Upon return to Israel, you will be given a B-1 visa that is good for 3 months. You will then be personally responsible for going to the Ministry of the Interior here in order to get a new Student Visa. The yeshiva will not handle the renewal of this Student Visa.
